On November 14, 2017 our beloved four legged furry family member, Bailey, crossed over. I use the term crossed over because I believe in the afterlife. I am a psychic medium and I have the ability to communicate with peoples’ loved ones who have crossed over. Bailey lived with us for 6 years but earlier in her life she lived in a cage for 8 years as the breeding dog for a puppy mill. When she came into our life we taught her love, to be fearless, to be curious and to accept the friendship of others. This was not an easy task and took lots of patience but the rewards, the love that came from her was endless and heartfelt from all who crossed her path. Over the years, my clients witnessed her growing in confidence, developing an attitude which was hilarious considering her size and even receiving the occasional lick from her. She was 14 years old when her time came to leave this life and my heart was breaking as I said goodbye to her. However, I have and continue to feel her presence in my life now and then and for this I feel truly blessed. We taught her but she also taught us!
Why the name What Would Bailey Do? One day, I saw her squeeze her little body into this tiny ray of sunshine coming through our window. In that moment the words “What Would Bailey Do” popped into my head and the idea for a set of workshops to help people discover their own spirituality was born. Bailey was able to overcome the trauma that she had experienced living in that cage for 8 years. We, as humans, have an incredible source to tap into to help us with our own hardships in life if we only learn how to access this source.
So what’s next? How do we tap into that source? Meditation. We constantly hear about the benefits of meditation. But there is something that isn’t always stated regarding meditation. Praying gives us the ability to ask and meditation provides the ability to hear the answer. Our minds are constantly being filled with endless chatter. How can we hear what we need if we don’t allow silence to enter our mind in order to hear the answer. In the silence we can find answers. Try adding meditation to your schedule at least a couple of times a week. There are incredible cds, books, free podcasts and radio programs on meditation. Give it a try, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
If Bailey can conquer her fears, so can you. Let’s take it a step at a time beginning with meditation.
